Dr. Schwertner’s Ranch Roundup BBQ A Huge Success
Over 500 local residents, community leaders and elected officials show up in support of Charles’ campaign for Texas House of Representatives, District 20
Georgetown, TX—Over 500 local residents, community leaders and elected officials attended Dr. Charles Schwertner’s Ranch Roundup BBQ this past weekend at the Schwertner Ranch Event Center in Schwertner, TX. Patti and Jim Schwertner and Sherri and Tom Madden served as Event Chairs.
“I was extremely humbled by the turnout and support we received Saturday night,” said Charles. “It clearly demonstrates the great momentum we have heading into our Fall Campaign. It also demonstrates that people want to support a candidate who shares their conservative values.”
Speakers at the event included Schwernter, US Congressman John Carter and State Representative Dan Gattis who served House District 20 before deciding not to seek re-election. Congressman Carter and Rep. Gattis also served as Honorary Co-Hosts for the event as did Georgetown Mayor George Garver, Round Rock Mayor Alan McGraw, Leander Mayor John Cowman, and Cedar Park Mayor Bob Lemon.
“I was honored to have respected, conservative leaders like Congressman Carter and Representative Gattis serve as Honorary Co-Hosts and speak at the event,” Schwertner said. “I promise to fight for our conservative values and represent the best interests of our community just as they have tirelessly done throughout their distinguished careers.”
Charles, his wife Belinda and their three sons are residents of Georgetown and are active members of St. Helen’s Catholic Church. He is a local orthopedic surgeon and small business owner with medical practices in both Georgetown and Cedar Park employing over 40 individuals and providing annual care to over 20,000 local patients.
He is also a member of the Williamson County Republican Party, Texas Right to Life, the National Rifle Association and the Texas State Rifle Association. He grew up working on his family’s farms and ranches and has six generations of ancestral roots in Williamson County.
A true fiscal conservative, Charles believes in lower taxes and reduced government spending to encourage economic growth and job creation. And as a local small business owner and physician, Charles opposes President’s recently passed national health care reform and will use his background as a doctor to protect patient’s rights from government intrusion, health insurance company abuses and rationing of care, especially as it pertains to care for seniors.
